Located in North Goa, the site sits within a forested setting with dense vegetation on one side and open forest parcels on the others. It offers a sweeping 270-degree view of the hills, from the northwest to the southeast. A small natural water channel divides the land into two parts, with the southern portion opening into a lush forest edge.

The site presented two contrasting conditions—a narrow, almost restrictive entry approach and expansive views toward the south, which also brought in harsh sunlight. Balancing openness with comfort, while maintaining privacy and responding to the.
terrain, became central to the design.
The design evolved from a close reading of the site—its climate, contours, and existing vegetation. Instead of correcting the narrow entry, it was intentionally retained and enhanced with a trellis, creating a compressed arrival that gradually opens into the landscape. Movement through the site was designed as a sequence, allowing the house to reveal itself in parts.
To address the southern light, deep roof overhangs were introduced. These block direct heat while maintaining uninterrupted views from within. The home is split across levels, following the natural terrain—separating social and private zones while maintaining visual continuity through a glass connector. Each decision was guided by the intent to balance exposure with comfort and openness with privacy.
The result is a home that feels deeply connected to its surroundings. Social spaces open outward toward the hills and pool, while private rooms remain quiet and immersive. Materials and architectural elements draw from Goan traditions, layered with contemporary detailing. The house supports both slow, everyday living and larger gatherings—offering an experience that is at once open, intimate, and rooted in its landscape.
