Rodrigues Farmhouse

Location

North Goa

Tucked into the lush hills of North Goa, Rodrigues Farmhouse is a private retreat built on a land parcel wrapped by dense forests and sweeping 270-degree views of the hills. Designed as a slow, immersive getaway for a Goan businessman and his family, it also opens its doors occasionally to like-minded seekers of quiet indulgence.

The approach is narrow and unassuming, a trellised entry that withholds the magic—until it doesn’t. As the path gently curves and the trees part, exposing the villa slowly and steadily. Contemporary yet traditionally rooted, with a silhouette that nods to Portuguese-Goan heritage in texture, form, and spirit.

The home is layered like the land itself. A linear glass bridge connects two levels—gathering spaces above, sleeping quarters tucked a level below. Each bedroom cradles a sunset view, framed by corner glass windows that dissolve the boundary between indoors and forest. Outside the master suite, an open lily pond reflects the shifting skies.

The living room spills into a dining tower—hexagonal, lofty, and crowned with a subtle architectural gesture that doubles as a water tower.

Together, they pivot out towards a long swimming pool that flows along the site’s contours—inviting guests to float straight into the woods.

The Rodrigues Villa is built using a blend of local wood, lime plaster, Mangalore tiles, and Goan stone—held in tension with sleek glass inserts and soft contemporary detailing. Here, modern and traditional don’t clash; they collaborate. Whether for a slow weekend or a spirited gathering, this house listens to its landscape. It feels like nature’s secret—quiet, generous, and always waiting to be returned to.
